🙈Wow I’ve really felt OUT OF SYNC this year!
🤦🏼♀️Being honest I think it’s my hormones - the year of Menopause! Which is quite a common topic in the media recently!
💛I prioritise my health and believe this has helped as I’ve not had the hot flushes, or mood shifts (I don’t think), and am sleeping well but I have experienced bloating especially around my stomach which I’ve never had before.
🍷I’m not a huge drinker, I exercise more than most (weights and cardio & pilates), I eat good mix of whole foods, I’d be lucky if I had a teaspoon of sugar a day. I do have takeaways, an alcoholic drink, or sweet treats but rarely.
🤦🏼♀️But I’ve just not been able to put the bloating down to anything other than Menopause. It stays with me for 2-3 days! And not too frequently.
🤦🏼♀️It’s hard battling this alongside work, life, family as a women in her 50’s or for others sometimes in their 40’s.
🙄I’m left wondering why my body is reacting this way? Help / Support is important from families, partners and then when required seeking further help such as Doctors or sometimes herbal remedies!
🙄I’ve friends who can’t sleep, bones ache, get super hot, moody, or one of the myriad of symptoms sometimes more than one!
However it can help to consider your health along the lines of:
🔹what food choices are you making?
🔹limiting processed foods, high sugar foods, flour foods
🔹ensuring your getting enough calcium, and vitamin D
🔹limiting alcohol
🔹increasing weight bearing exercise
🔹doing some exercise
🔹considering stress on the body
🔹booking in yearly check-ups
🔹and do I need to seek help of a doctor or herbal remedies?
💛The biggest change I can suggest from my own view is the alcohol intake, which sometimes many see as an end of day crutch or weekend daily binge habit.
Dr Libby talks about this being a barrier and the true impact it has:

😊I should mention I take a hormone tablet which does assist me, but it’s not the answer for everyone. I can take this because of my general good health.
👍🏻We’ve also been working on our November challenges of giving up or adding in, and some have been successful and made even more changes whereas others need more time! However it’s taking one step forward that counts not massive leaps!
🚗Canterbury has a long weekend this week and today is a public holiday so all Cantabs I hope your taking the time to add fitness to your day or if you’ve been crazy hectic already in this lead up to Christmas count this as a rest day!
