Why wellness is about fish n chips too!

I’m sharing an article on Monday with the above statement & I couldn’t agree more when considering my perspective on life & my HEALTH & clients!

🙌🏻I discuss with my clients often weekly that we need to live a LIFE - our food choices are a LIFESTYLE not a DIET!

✔️Yes to fish and chips & cake & wine. BUT not daily or regularly.

🥂Our aim to eat nutritious whole foods most of the week then if a friend calls and wants fish and chips and wine. We don’t panic!

🍸Our diet isn’t ruined. We are living a life! We don’t feel guilty. We instead enjoy the less than nutritional food or drink.

🥦I challenge my clients to eat a range of vegetables, some fruit, protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats & limit alcohol.

🙌🏻If we achieve this then anytime where we eat less nutritious food or drink are part of the HEALTHY LIFE we live.

🤔As it’s no good if we are trying to be so perfect that we can’t live a life!

💛I like the BALANCE shared in the article and it says “wellness is as much about fish and chips at the beach as it is about a green smoothie after yoga”

🙆🏼‍♀️I’ve also met clients who’ve removed gluten thinking bread was an evil carbohydrate or dairy thinking this would solve their dietary problem HOWEVER it’s not been the gluten or dairy that’s the problem it’s been the lack of whole real foods.

✔️I eat Vogels extra thin every morning for breakfast and love it! I just don’t have a lot of extra bread or carbohydrates through the rest of my day.

🚫Don’t remove food groups from your diet without consultation with a Dietician or Registered Nutritionist. Our bodies have eaten foods across all the main groups for thousands of years. Some people do have intolerance but be careful of making your body have an intolerance it doesn’t need!

✔️🙌🏻We are doing a kilometre challenge for June and recording how many we do each time I see a client. From memory last year we achieved 2 1/2 times the length of New Zealand.

❤️This shortened week we got to 654.8km

Perhaps join us and start adding up your kilometres and see how far you can GO!
