š§As part of our gym MAKE A CHANGE CHALLENGE I decided to try KETO!
šøSome of you may ask whatās KETO - itās an extreme diet with very low carbs - consider 1 banana is your limit of carbs per day!Ā AN EXTREME version of ATKINS DIET OF OLD!
šøOR MAY ASK WHY?Ā Iāve had many discuss KETO whilst Iāve been a trainer for 14 years & although I disagree with diets, I believe we should be heading toward KETO and away from processed foods.
šI BELIEVE IN HIGHER HEALTHY FATS, PROTEIN, LOWER CARB (NOT AS EXTREME LOW AS KETO)
šWHAT DID I THINK!Ā It was extremely challenging, no milk in my coffee, no toast, no fruits (as most of the fruits on KETO are berries), very limited vegetables (lots of cauliflower, broccoli) & to achieve KETOSIS you must be on task everyday!
šøAny extreme diet will mean losing weight BECAUSE YOUR CUTTING OUT THE CRAP - for me not so much - but if youāve a poor diet with lots of flour, sugar, alcohol, fizzy & processed foods then this can be life changing even more so if your heading towards DIABETES!
šKETO has been shown to help those heading on the TYPE 2 DIABETES PATH!
šøI missed my mandarins, pineapple and other fruits for vitamins & minerals & also KETO CAN MAKE YOU CONSTIPATED.
šøI ate more EGGS and this isnāt a problem unless your cholesterol is high (yes EGGS arenāt the cause of HIGH CHOLESTEROL but you need to watch how many)!
šøI ate lots more cheese & bacon as made egg cups for breakfast (plus a sneaky keto toast & picās peanut butter, missed it too much) & you do get tired of cheese & bacon.
šøI missed the variety of vegetables, lovely chickpea salads too.

šBUT FINALLY DONāT DIET - just eat whole real foods as much as you can, donāt drink excessively, drink water & EXERCISE!
