☕️I also suggested to a friend that she goes for a walk & has a COFFEE? Why suggest that?
🚴♀️I felt I could do the ride I was doing without the assistance of the ECO or any setting on the E-BIKE but I was borrowing the bike and so I used the bike BUT I did switch off the assistance.
🚴♀️I hear those who say they’d not ride if they didn’t have the E-BIKE & so the answer is YES have an E-BIKE!
🥰HOWEVER, and this won’t make me popular - switch off the assistance if you don’t need it - for example - it’s flat, it’s down hill, it’s not windy, your not going far.
🥰YES I hear you the bike is heavier but use that to your advantage as a challenge rather than an excuse!
🥰My MUM IS in her late 70’s (sorry mum) and she rides a regular bike as she can, she doesn’t ride hills and is on the flat! And I tell her she’s capable of riding!
🧡TRY to make sure you get the heart rate up & power through the legs rather than going out for what could be effectively a leaisurely stroll!
🚴♀️If the E-BIKE builds a habit of riding that’s fantastic but if you can also then ride with out any assistance thats even better!
☕️BACK TO THE WALK & HAVE A COFFEE. Similar reasoning - My friend was not doing any exercise, so if by way of encouragement she walks to the coffee shop and has a small coffee then that’s GREAT as shes walking!
☕️Over time this may build a walking habit that has a herbal tea not coffee or no stop at all!
🔛The KEY is to get started & sometimes a little help along the way is worth it!
🔛Use whatever you have to get you going as it’s your head / mind that needs convincing!
🔛If you can start now as we are heading towards cooler / darker days & it’s a good habit to have!
And can you get fit on an electric bike? https://www.bikeradar.com/advice/fitness-and-training/electric-bike-fitness/
