“WHEN YOU ENJOY THE PROCESS YOUR GOAL BECOMES A MILESTONE NOT A FINISH LINE” With fitness I often hear of people training for events & this is their finish line. Some go onto reach out to another event, however unfortunately for some this is the end of their fitness journey.
🏃♀️It’s FANTASTIC when the journey continues not just for an event but because you ENJOY THE PROCESS.
🚶🏼♀️As I’ve said before it is not always easy but the end result is worth the effort. Then repeating this effort until it becomes a something you enjoy.
🏃♀️Not everyone wants to run, or road cycling, or swim but you may enjoy a walk or mountain biking but find something that you enjoy doing. Just don’t give up too soon & realise that it takes time but appreciate what you are getting from your effort.
🌰We discussed NUTS & Dr Libby Weaver said Nuts are full of healthy fats, protein & fibre but we can mindlessly eat too many. Although Dr Libby suggested 30g she did also say to be aware of how you feel when you eat nuts, and like seeds if we eat too many this can make our stools loose.
🌰Some nuts also provide your body with different things such as
Walnuts – these differ in that they contain some essential omega-3 fatty acids.
Brazil nuts – these are the richest dietary source of selenium and they’re also particularly rich in magnesium.
Almonds – these are richer in calcium than other types of nuts, and they’re also particularly rich in vitamin E.
Cashews – these are slightly higher in iron than other nuts and they also contain prebiotic (including some resistant starch) which is great for our gut bacteria.
💦I was asked on Sunday if I was really running in the drizzle & I gave my usual reply “it’s only water - I’m going to shower when I get home too” & it wasn’t actually as heavy as I thought once I got going. So don’t let a dreary day put you off.
🍷Dry (ish) July is here & I’ve asked my clients to consider their alcohol intake & the water they are drinking over July. Is the alcohol a celebration, or catch up with a friend or just because I can? Perhaps consider your alcohol intake this month. Have a great weekend!
