EATING RIGHT IS NOT ABOUT EATING LESS - IT’S ABOUT EATING MORE OF THE RIGHT FOODS!

⁉️Finding somewhere that serves those foods when your on the GO is something I’m often asked about! I also find a whole lot of confusion around what are the right foods? Let me answer those two questions:


Right FOODS

-👍🏻Whole Real Foods (Vegetables, fruit, meat, nuts, eggs, seafood, legumes/pulses)

👍🏻Foods with minimal processing that are made from Whole Real Food (oils such as those made from olives, macadamias, avocado, butter, ghee, apple cider vinegar & whole grains such as rolled oats if you digest them well, of course say Dr Libby Weaver)

👎🏻If you're looking at the back of a food ingredients list & you can’t decipher what it says then reconsider eating it!


👍🏻When discussing food choices there is sometimes a lack of knowledge as so much has changed in more recent years about fats, proteins & carbohydrates. How fats give us nutritional benefits when they were once frowned upon & how carbohydrates (filled rolls for example) were once the go to lunch meal but now we know that its just a filler made from flour & water & offers little nutritional benefit.

⁉️WHERE DO I GO?

This is sometimes tricky as I can struggle to find WHOLE REAL FOOD CHOICES when I’m away from home.


👍🏻However I sometimes go to the supermarket deli & grab some cold meat & then a salad (looking for one with reduced mayonnaise) or something from the vegetable aisle.

👍🏻Pita Pit can be a good option

👍🏻Robert Harris has a great bacon/egg cup with no pastry

👍🏻Taste Cafe has some great Keto options

👍🏻Untouched World in Christchurch fabulous Super Salad

👍🏻Often though I’ve made dinner at home and have leftovers for lunch.

👎🏻I could choose a higher carbohydrate option of a pie, sandwich, panini but I actually want to eat something that will fill my stomach & I know that these things are basically just fillers & I’ll be left hungry not long after I’ve eaten them! I just want to nourish my body & thats the way I like to live!


👍🏻I liked this analogy from a post "I like to view the human body similar to a car, our brain is like the car’s engine, our food like the car’s fuel. Given the proper fuel and good maintenance a car will last for years. Poorly kept with the wrong fuel, that poor car won’t go far, similar to the human body and mind.” Something to consider. And do you want to add additives (pills) because your choices aren’t helping your car run smoothly?
