“Consistency will always beat short term intensity” which in my gym we discussed going for the long game - the lifestyle game! We can be bombarded by diets in the media or from friends but making lifestyle changes means the achievements of a healthier, fitter, stronger body stay with you for life!
😒I’ve seen before many people very proud of their weight loss only to know that it won’t unfortunately stay off because its been achieved with a quick fix solution. Although this may temp you - don’t be tempted as your often only filling the diet promotors pockets.
😒On Monday I shared the sad article of a man who lost his life to diabetes. Unfortunately diabetes is becoming more common in New Zealand with obesity levels rising. Before her partner Earl Ropata died, Patty Wunder asked if he had any regrets. “ wish I would've taken my health more seriously," he replied. Don’t wait until it’s gone. Or keep saying I could be hit by a bus so let me live my unhealthy life - why bother! Keep focusing on your HEALTH & FITNESS & make the most of your life for YOU & your LOVED 💕ones.
🏋🏼♂️In the Gym we discussed two questions from an article from The Press raised which were answered by Dr Emma Beckett a molecular nutritionist & lecturer in Food Science.
🥕Should we be going Vegan? In brief she said NO - The data doesn't tend to show that a no meat diet is better than moderate or low meat one. And like all lifestyle regimes you can do a vegan diet well or poorly. I will share the link below so you can read the full reply, but the second question was;
☕️I really let it go over the holidays. Its time to detox! When people say detox they often refer to tea’s or juice cleanses which restricts or eliminates solid foods. They may cut out toxins such as alcohol but what they're really doing is starving themselves. NO diets that say they are detox are actually doing anything to detoxify. Your liver & kidneys detoxify you. They break down toxins, metabolise them and excrete them in your urine. You don’t need anything dietary to do that for you!
🏋🏼♂️Lastly I asked how many press ups everyone did during the week - last week & as I was away on Monday returning from Elton John we had a reduced client base but we still achieved….
🏋🏼♂️Keep up the press ups - it’s been great to hear how many have been doing some!
🌽Enjoy the last week of February 2020 & maybe one of those new recipes I’ve shared this week! I’m loving the zoodle noodles from courgettes!
🏋🏼♂️Whatever you do - do look after your health & wellbeing as life is really too precious to waste!
