Was this weeks theme about positivity. We are all different. All capable of doing great things in the gym & in life. We need to focus on those GREAT things not on what someone on the internet that we don’t know can do or the way they look!
❤️🖤Focus on the parts of you that you love & your abilities. I often say to my clients that Ritchie McCaw would never be Dan Carter just as Dan Carter is not Ritchie McCaw. They both had strengths they brought to the game of RUGBY & the team needed both of their strengths. Just like in life we have strengths we can share with others. Remember what yours are…. or FIND THEM!
❤️🖤On Monday I shared a post about BODY LOVE & talked to my clients about loving our bodies. It’s sad seeing unrealistic pictures of how we should conform & as I’ve said before I prefer STRONG, FIT, HEALTHY to skinny! And think of athletes with lots of different body shapes!
❤️🖤In this article the author says…I had a clear file where I kept cut-out images from gossip magazines of famous people with bodies I aspired to have. Studies have shown a drastic increase in body image disorders when TV was introduced. More recent research has proven the negative impact social media is having on our body image. ❤️🖤We also discussed an article from Dr Libby Weaver about how ‘Food choices can’t be burnt off” How nutrients from a bowl of kale or broccoli is utilised in the body completely different to a chocolate biscuit. “Our bodies metabolise food differently” therefore the calorie in & calorie out equation doesn't work. When you choose a food because your hungry think about the nutrients it gives you or does it just give you an insulin or sugar boost? ❤️🖤Labour Weekend is looking promising for good weather. Take the opportunity to exercise with a friend or make a new recipe as you’ve more time. Keep thinking about less alcohol and more water which is our October challenge. Also consider being more positive about what you can achieve. As we are all capable of more than we realise! I see this every day in the gym! & GO THE ALL BLACKS 🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️
