ARE YOU SWEET ENOUGH?

That same voice that says “GIVE UP” can also be trained to say “KEEP GOING”. It’s when life gets busy or stressful that we often GIVE UP but we actually need to KEEP GOING as what we get from fitness helps us with those tough times.

It’s been proven & reported that our mental health can be improved by fitness. Time to clear your head, endorphins released, or maybe chatting with a friend whilst you walk. Fitness isn’t just about improving your body it gives back in many other ways. It just involves one step outside the door or contact with someone like me. Summer is just around the corner!

We discussed SUGAR in the gym & how it’s not just added to foods like cakes, biscuits as flavour but to preserved foods, processed meats as a preservative. It’s in so much of what we eat that is processed & doesn’t always come labeled as raw sugar. It’s called many other names. Remember 4g of sugar on the back of a packet is equal to one teaspoon of sugar. Check out how much is in some of the foods you eat regularly. How much can you reduce your sugar intake by eating less from packets & jars?

We also sometimes reach for something sweet when we have an emotional need. What we are seeking is joy or happiness from that sweet product. Perhaps as suggested in the article below we look at what else gives us that joy or happiness - our children, photos of fun times, the daffodils growing outside, the view out our window. https://www.stuff.co.nz/life-style/well-good/teach-me/70845225/

Wow the totals of how far we have exercised are really adding up in the gym & as I write this we are hitting 600km + this week alone by my clients! Its great to see everyone getting outside & getting the Vitamin D, endorphins & mental health breaks we need in our days! It’s been cold in the mornings with some -2 days but don’t let this put you off, just layer up & enjoy the views of your surrounds. Great recipes this week too so take time to make something new this weekend!
