STOP FITNESS & AGE CREEPS IN...

TOO TRUE “we don’t stop hiking because we get old - we get old because we stop hiking”. I shared an article by Dr Tom Mulholland on Monday about living a full & energised life as long as you can! 90yo on skis! 👏🏻So try to look at what activities you can do or once did and make these part of your life again.

😳Too often I hear about TIME being the constraint. It’s not - YOU are the constraint. YOU decided what to do with your time - washing, mowing lawns, tv, gaming, cleaning & all of these can WAIT - getting ACTIVE gives you much more than any of these jobs but it depends on whether YOU want to prioritise your ability to be ACTIVE or NOT - think about a happy heart, lungs, bones, muscles & less risk of disease or illness just by being ACTIVE & now tell me WHY you're NOT?

🤩We need to be proud of ourselves more often is what my quote was about this week in the gym. I often hear; I ONLY did this, or I didn’t do this well, or I’ve NOT had a good week food wise. When in reality that; ONLY did this was a 7km walk/run or a full press up not to ground level but still a full press up, or ONLY a couple of treats over the course of a week. I call all of the above as things we should be pleased with not guilty or unhappy about. When we keep trying or being CONSISTENT with positive change then improvements happen.

🤩Dr Libby talks about ZIG - ZAG - over the course of a week we may eat 35 meals, and mostly they are ZIG (nutritious) with a few ZAG’s not nutritious but treats - this is LIFE - if the ZIG’s outweigh the ZAG’s consistently & and significantly then thats a great way to live. It’s the same with exercise try to ZIG a few more walks / bike rides or runs or whatever gets your heart rate up. ZAG occasionally as rest is recovery and important. But when you're resting more than your fitness then unless your sick or injured your lifestyle needs to change.

🥶I think it’s going to be another wet weekend - remember rain (if not pelting down) is only water, so dress warmly & enjoy the outdoors -we are on the countdown to spring! Enjoy another recipe I shared this week if it’s really wet at your place or get your diary out to plan your ACTIVE week.
