I’ve been watching the TVone program on “How not to get cancer”. Just about weekly I hear of a friend or friend of a friend who has cancer. It’s awfully sad & shocking. The program said: 😬Q: What is the biggest preventable cause of cancer after smoking? A: Obesity https://www.heartfoundation.org.nz/wellbeing/bmi-calculator. CHECK YOUR BODY MASS? are you obese? (or moving towards obese)- what are you going to do about it? - as its up to YOU first! YOU most likely need to look at a change to your lifestyle! Also .... 😬Up to a 1/3 of all cancer cases are linked to poor diet. And yet what is being done? Foods are being made with more numbers & ingredients we can’t pronounce. People are moving less as games on phones, tv’s & other devices are taking over our children's & sometimes adults lives. If YOU don’t make a change then you could become a statistic & once your health goes it’s either hard or impossible to get it back.
I don’t generally use BMI as a measure as it doesn't always tell me your fit & healthy as some sports people come in as Obese & we know they’re not. But for regular folk it maybe a wake up call that your life needs to change. Don’t leave it too late & don’t rely on someone else to do it for you — make the first step! (But if you need some advice I’m here! PM me😊)
Check out more by watching the program on TV (Tuesday @ 8.30pm) or on demand. Also see more in my blog on fb on Friday!
I’m not saying your safe from Cancer or my friends had cancer because of poor diet or being obese but reducing your risk is worth some effort surely & it’s not just reducing your cancer risk but also a range of other illnesses too! 🙏🏻
